A survey format where an AI agent conducts the questionnaire as a natural conversation, adapting questions based on previous responses.

A Conversational Survey is a research format where instead of presenting a static questionnaire with fixed questions, an AI agent—typically based on an LLM—conducts a dynamic conversation with the respondent, adapting questions in real time based on prior responses.

This allows for: greater depth in responses (automatic follow-up questions), higher completion rates (more engaging than long forms), capture of qualitative nuances within a quantitative tool, and personalization of the survey experience.

Conversational surveys combine the best of qualitative interviewing (flexibility, depth) with the scalability of quantitative surveys. They are especially useful for exploratory research, U&A studies, and satisfaction studies.
