Acquiescence Bias

Respondents' tendency to agree with statements regardless of their content.
Acquiescence Bias (or Yes-saying) is the systematic tendency of some respondents to agree with statements presented in a survey, or to select the most positive options on a scale, regardless of the specific content of each item.
It is a bias significantly more pronounced in some Latin American cultures than in Anglo-Saxon ones, making its recognition critical in cross-cultural research in LATAM.
Mitigation strategies: (1) Include items worded negatively (e.g., 'I would not recommend this brand') interspersed with positive items; (2) Use forced-choice scales or MaxDiff instead of agreement scales; (3) Identify and adjust for the effect in statistical analysis.
